The cottage was in a beautiful location, perfect for exploring the Kintyre peninsula and taking leisurely walks along the nearby canal.
The directions to find the cottage were mostly excellent, but the final 100 yards were a bit confusing. However, it was easily sorted out with a quick phone call.

The cottage was very comfortable with all that could be needed for a week's stay. My visit was in late winter and the wood-burning stove contributed to a very cosy evening atmosphere. Cairnbaan is an excellent place to stay if you are looking for quiet but interesting surroundings. Loved the spotless and well-equipped cottage. The wood burning stove provided warmth after being out and about on winter days. Pauline, our host, ensured we had everything we needed and gave us great information on local services. Great location for exploring the Kintyre peninsula and enjoying walks along the Crinan Canal. Cozy with excellent central heating and an open fire if required. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the kitchen very well equipped. Excellent WiFi.
I highly recommend this hotel.

As soon as I stepped inside the cottage, I felt a wave of happiness and contentment wash over me. The decoration had such a warm and inviting atmosphere, with beautiful furnishings and lovely touches that made it feel like a true home away from home. The general areas of the cottage were impeccably clean and well-maintained, ensuring a comfortable stay throughout. It was also conveniently accessible for senior people, with step-free access and well-placed handrails to assist with movement around the cottage.
If I had to mention one thing for a better vacation for senior people, it would be helpful if the children working at the cottage could offer a bit more assistance with luggage. While the staff was friendly and accommodating, a little bit more help with carrying bags up the stairs would have made the experience even more enjoyable for older travelers.

The bathroom in the Crinan Canal Cottage was absolutely amazing! The shower/tub combination had a deep soaking tub, which was perfect for relaxing after a long day of exploring. The complimentary toiletries were a nice touch too. I felt like I was in my own private spa!
The only thing I liked less was the shower. It could have had a bit more water pressure.

During my recent travels, I had the opportunity to stay at Crinan Canal Cottage in Lochgilphead. As a frequent traveler, one of the things I appreciate the most about this hotel is its convenient location. Situated only 170 km from the nearest airport, it made my transit much smoother and hassle-free. the hotel is just 64 km away from another airport, offering even more accessibility and options for my travel needs.
While my stay at Crinan Canal Cottage was overall delightful, there was one minor drawback that I noticed. I found that the provided database lacks some details regarding the hotel's amenities and services.
